Welcome to my new blog!
It’s the beginning of 2019, and the beginning of a new challenge. I am aiming to run a half marathon race (or sometimes a 10 mile race) every month of 2019. Although I have been running for a while and have done quite a few half marathons before I have not attempted so many in one year! I am also aiming to raise at least £2000 for JDRF – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – https://jdrf.org.uk/. This amazing charity raises money to fund research into Type1 diabetes – to find a cure, to provide better treatments, and to raise awareness and understanding of Type1.
Today I want to introduce my Virgin Money Giving site – https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/EmilyBishop1. Please have a look. I know that January is a difficult month financially for many, but there are literally another 12 months to go, so keep it bookmarked!
I also want to introduce the first half marathon of the year on 6th January – https://www.runningmiles.co.uk/start-me-up. It’s always good to have support at races so please feel free to come along and cheer! I am not expecting any PB’s especially after all the wine, cheese, mince pies and general lazing about over the last couple of weeks, but hey, it’s a great way to start the year and the challenge.
As I book up more I will add them to the list. So far I have 2 more actually booked – April: Thames Towpath Ten Miles http://west4harriers.com/ttt/ and September: Ealing Half marathon https://www.ealinghalfmarathon.com/. I have my eye on a several more!
And – for some light relief and tasty treats I’m going to have the occasional baking slot.
(Another challenge will be getting my head round the actual blog thing!)
